Water Safety at Grapevine Lake

The Corps of Engineers and the Grapevine Lake staff is committed to providing the public with education concerning boating and water safety. Grapevine Lake Rangers are available for water safety presentations from October to April. Programs are available for all school groups ages K-12 as well as community and non-profit groups of all ages. For more information on programs and free educational materials please contact the Grapevine Lake Project Office at 817-865-2600 and ask to speak with the water safety coordinator. We ask that you provide your requests for programs at least six weeks in advance to ensure staff availability.

Tips for Boating Safety

*Learn to swim.

*Always wear a Coast Guard approved lifevest.

*Swim, boat or hunt with a buddy- it's safer and more fun!

*Always keep an eye on children!

*Stay sober and alert to changing conditions.

*Let others know where you are going and when you plan on returning.

*Keep a working fire extinguisher on your vessel.

*Take a boating safety class through Texas Parks and Wildlife
