Corps Parks at Wright Patman Lake

Camping Extension Policy

Length of stay in the campgrounds cannot exceed 14 days, unless an extension of time is granted by the Corps of Engineers.

Length of stay will be determined based on the camping unit, not the customer name.

Reservations made through the Recreation.gov Call Center, Recreation.gov website, or at the park gatehouse will be limited to 14 days during any 30 consecutive day period. "Stacking" of reservations (consecutive back-to-back reservations for the same camping unit and/or household exceeding the 14 day limit) is not allowed, and is subject to a citation under 36 CFR 327.7b.


Recreation Season (1 March-31 October)

Length of stay, including extensions, may NOT exceed 42 days during any 60 consecutive day period.

Customers wishing to stay longer than 14 days must be granted an extension if wishing to stay in the park longer.

Camping Units that have been camped in the park longer than 14 days prior to Memorial Day, July 4th, or Labor Day holidays, must be leave the campground the Friday prior to the holiday.


Winter Season (1 November-29 February)

Length of stay, including, extensions, may be granted for the entire winter season (120 days).


Clear Springs Campground

Clear Springs Campground offers 88 campsites, all with water and electricity. A group camping facility is available, which includes a screened shelter with restrooms and showers, and 12 campsites with water and electricity. Other amenities in the park include three restroom buildings with showers, day use pavilion, trailer dump station, blue boy dump station, fish cleaning station, boat ramp with courtesy dock, swim beach, nature trails, volleyball court, basketball court, playgrounds, and three screened shelters. All screened shelters have water access, and are next to the boat ramp. Each shelter has a ceiling fan,stainless steel table, fire ring, grill, covered porch with picnic table, water, and electrical outlets. One shelters is provided with wooden deck near the water. The park also offers 41 sites with water, electricity, and sewer hook up.

  • 3 campsites, water, 50-amp electric, special amenity $28.
  • 41 campsites, water, electric, & sewer $26.
  • 12 sites, tent area (no utilities) $14.
  • Day use pavilion $40 per day.
  • Group camping shelter $200 per night, includes 12 campsites with water & electric.
  • 3 screened shelters $32 each per night.
  • Open year-round.

Piney Point Campground

Piney Point Park offers 45 campsites with water and electricity, and 7 primitive (tent) campsites. Six of the sites have 50-amp electric service. Other amenities in the park include one restroom building with showers, a vault restroom, day use pavilion, playgrounds, nature trail, boat ramp with courtesy dock, trailer dump station, and a volleyball court.

  • 6 sites, water and electric (50-amp) $26.
  • 7 campsites, no utilities $14.
  • Public boat ramp- free.
  • Day use pavilion $25 per day.
  • Campground open March 1 - September 30.
  • There is no swim beach within the park.

Rocky Point Campground

Rocky Point Campground offers 124 campsites, all with water and electricity. 15 of the sites have sewer hook ups, and 38 of the sites have 50-amp electric service. Other amenities in the park include three restroom buildings with showers, trailer dump station, fish cleaning station, boat ramp with courtesy dock, day-use pavilion, amphitheater, playground, nature trails, swim beach, basketball court, and volleyball court.

  • 9 sites water, electric, and sewer $26.
  • 9 sites water, 50-amp electric, sewer $28.
  • 29 sites water and 50-amp electric $26.
  • Day-use pavilion $25 per day.
  • Open year-round.

Malden Lake Campground

Malden Lake Campground offers 39 campsites, all with water and electricity. 10 of the sites have 50-amp electric service. Other amenities in the park include one restroom building with showers, boat ramp with courtesy dock, trailer dump station, playgrounds, and a walking trail.

B section site

  • 29 campsites, water and electric $24.
  • 10 sites, water and electric (50-amp ) $26.
  • Open October through May, closed June through September.

NorthShore Park

North Shore Park has 60 picnic sites with table, and upright grills which may be used on a first come - first served basis from 9:00 A.M. until Sunset. Water and electricity are not supplied to these sites. Drinking water is available from fountains at various locations within the park.  Some of the picnic tables are grouped together for larger groups and families. North Shore also has to offer a swim beach, 3 volleyball courts, basketball court, waterborne restroom building with showers, vault restroom, boat ramp with courtesy dock, 3 covered benches, horseshoe pits, playground, 1 tether ball area, and 1 covered picnic table all within proximity of the beach.

  • Area fee of $5 for use of park facilities for each vehicle. The boat ramp is separate access and is free of charge.
  • Public beach and boat ramp.
  • Open April 1 - September 30.

Jackson Creek Park

Jackson Creek Park is a free primitive camping area. Camping is allowed for no more than 14 days within a 30 day consecutive period. Facilities include picnic tables, ground fire rings at each campsite, boat ramp, and a vault restroom. No water or electricity is available.

Thomas Lake Park

Thomas Lake Park is a free primitive camping area with a boat ramp. Camping is allowed for no more than 14 days within a 30 day consecutive period. Facilities include picnic tables at each camping area. No restroom facilities, water or electricity is available for users.

Oak Park

Oak Park is a day use facility open from April 1 - Oct 31. Oak Park facilities include a day use group pavilion available for rental by calling the National Reservation Service toll-free at (877) 444-6777 or on the internet at recreation.gov . Oak Park has 25 picnic sites with tables and upright grills which may be used on a first come - first served basis from 8:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. at no charge.  Water and electricity are not supplied to these sites. A dump station is located within the park. Oak Park also has one vault restroom, a swingset play area, and 1 volleyball court.

Fees:

Day use pavilion $25.
Open April 1 - October 31.

Spillway Park

Spillway Park has 21 picnic sites with tables and upright grills which may be used on a first come - first served basis from 8:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. Water and electricity are not supplied to these sites. The park is split into two different sections, contact the Wright Patman Lake Project Office for directions to both sections of the park. Spillway Park is also an excellent location for kite flying, and offers an 18 hole disc golf course free charge for public use.

Malden Lake Day Use Area

Malden Lake Day Use Area is a fee boat ramp area located off Highway just 3 miles south of Maud, Texas. Malden Lake Day Use Area facilities include picnic tables, a boat ramp with a courtesy dock, vault toilet, water hydrants within the picnic area, and a drinking water fountain .

Fees:

Public boat ramp- free.

Elliott Bluff

Elliott Bluff facilities include a fishing pier that is open to public fishing with no fee. In addition Elliott Bluff also offers a courtesy dock and 3 picnic tables with outdoor grills for public use. Elliott Bluff is the first ADA accessible courtesy dock and fishing pier on Wright Patman Lake. The area also includes a waterfowl and birding observation platform.

Fees:

Public boat ramp- free.

Sportsman's Cove

Sportsman's Cove Special Event Area is located in the old Mallard Bay/Intake Hill area on the lake. The special event area includes a 60' X 60' pavilion, restroom with showers and A/C, and a parking lot and boat ramp. This area is a great asset to the Wright Patman Lake Project for large scale Special Events and Fishing Tournaments.
