Directions to Canyon Lake

Canyon Lake is located in the beautiful hill country of Texas, halfway between Austin and San Antonio. To reach the lake from Interstate Highway 35 near New Braunfels, drive West on FM 306 for 15 miles. From 281, drive East on FM 306 for 12 miles.

When coming to Canyon Lake, remember to practice good water safety. If you don't you could get lost in a watery grave. Always, wear your Life Jacket when having fun in the water.

Canyon Lake Office and Overlook

From IH 35:

Take FM 306 exit 191 located just west of New Braunfels. Travel west on FM 306. Turn left on South Access Road just below Canyon Dam. Follow until reaching C.O.E Road. Turn right onto C.O.E. Road and come up the hill. The Lake Office will be on the left.

From US Hwy 281:

Take east until coming the South Access Road. Follow to C.O.E. Road and turn right. Up the hill, the Lake Office will be on the left.
If coming from San Antonio, you can also turn east on FM 46. From FM 46, turn left onto FM 3159. Turn right on FM 2673. Head west until reach South Access Road in Sattler. Turn left and follow to C.O.E. Road. Turn left and continue up the hill. The lake Office will be on your left.

Cranes Mill Park

Cranes Mill Park is located on the Southwest shore of Canyon Lake.

From IH 35

Take Exit 191 (FM 306) in North end of New Braunfels, Texas. Head west on FM 306 to FM 2673. Stay on 2673 until it dead ends in the park.

From US Hwy 281

Take FM 46 East in Bulverde. Turn left at FM 3159 and continue until reaching FM 2673. Turn left, heading west, on FM 2673 and continue until it dead ends into the park.

North Park

North Park is located off FM 306 near the dam.

From IH 35:

Take FM 306 exit 191 located just west of New Braunfels. Travel west on FM 306. Turn left on North Park Road and follow south. The park is near the end of the road.

From US Hwy 281:

Take FM 306 east until you get to North Park Road. Turn right onto North Park Road and follow it until you come to the park at the far end of the road.

Potter's Creek Park

Potter's Creek Park is located on the northwest side of Canyon Lake off of Potter's Creek Road near the Hwy 484 (Fischer Road) junction.

From IH 35:

Take FM 306 exit 191 located just north of New Braunfels, travel west on FM 306 to Potters Creek Road. Turn left onto Potters Creek Road and follow. Potters Creek Road will lead directly into the park.

From US Hwy 281

Take FM 306 east to Potters Creek Road. Turn right onto Potters Creek Road and follow. Potters Creek Road will lead directly into the park.
