Maintenance Crew

The Volunteer Maintenance Crew at Benbrook Lake assists Rangers and Maintenance in the upkeep and repair of park facilities, as well as construction projects around the lake. A typical day might include anything from repairing piperail fencing to operating heavy equipment to asist in the repair of park ameneties.

Minimum Requirements
  • Desire to work (min 20 hours/week) and live in outdoor setting with your own fully enclosed RV.
  • Must be familiar with the use of hand power tools.
  • A strong sense of teamwork and being a team player.
  • Physical ability to lift 30 lbs and carry 100 feet.

Park Cleaning Crew

The Volunteer Park Cleaning Crew at Benbrook Lake is responsible for the cleanliness and upkeep of park facilities. This crew makes routine rounds through park facilities and picks up any debris or litter they find.

Minimum Requirements
  • Desire to work (min 20 hours/week) and live in outdoor setting with your own fully enclosed RV.
  • A strong sense of teamwork and being a team player.
  • Physical ability to lift 15 lbs and carry 25 feet.

Park Host

The Park Host Volunteer at Benbrook Lake assists park patrons by suggesting things to do and places to go in the vicinity, and explain the campground regulations.

Minimum Requirements
  • Desire to work (min 20 hours/week) and live in outdoor setting with your own fully enclosed RV.
  • Desire to meet and interact with persons from varied backgrounds.
  • Cognitive and verbal ability to answer visitor questions and communicate with other park personnel.

Office Assistant

The Office Assistant Volunteer at Benbrook Lake assists USACE personnel by answering phones, greeting visitors, and performing general office work such as copying, filing, and mailing.

Minimum Requirements
  • Desire to work (min 20 hours/week) and live in outdoor setting with your own fully enclosed RV.
  • Desire to meet and interact with persons from varied backgrounds.
  • Cognitive and verbal ability to answer visitor questions and communicate with other park personnel.
