The Group Shelter in Longhorn Park is available for day use activities only, camping is not permitted. This shelter is located behind the Lake Office on high ground overlooking the lake. This shelter does not provide easy lakeshore access.

There is a large covered picnic area, a large cooking grill, drinking water, lighting, 110 volt outlets for use until 10:00 p.m., a vault toilet and trash cans, a backstop for ball games, horseshoe stakes, a sand volleyball court, and plenty of open space. Accessibility for mobility-impaired is fairly good for this facility. Parking is available for up to forty-five vehicles, and the area will accommodate groups of up to 100 people.

The daily rental rate for Monday through Thursday is $60.00; the rate for Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays is $125.00. The shelter is closed for the winter from November 1 through February.

The Group Shelter in the Mustang Point area of Mustang Park is available for either day use activities or overnight camping. It is located in the Mustang Point campground on the south side of the lake, and is accessible from CO 1042 (Winscott Plover Road) off of FM 1187.

Amenities include drinking water, large cooking grill, lights and 110 volt outlets for use until 10:00 p.m., and trash cans. A vault toilet is located nearby the shelter. Poles for a volleyball net are also provided. Shelter users have access to the Mustang Point swim beach. Accessibility for mobility-impaired is fairly good for this facility. There is parking for thirty vehicles and capacity for 80 people.

The rental rate for the shelter is $125.00 per day, weekday or weekend, for either dayuse or camping. This shelter is available year round.

For overnight camping, there are six individual water and electrical pedestal hookups. No additional camping fee is charged for use of these sites, beyond the regular shelter rental. If an overnight group has more than 80 people wishing to camp, additional individual camping in the park adjacent to the shelter is available for the regular $14.00 camping fee.

Reservations

Reservations for Mustang and Longhorn Pavilions are made through the Recreation One Stop Reservation System online or at 1-877-444-6777. No refunds for inclement weather will be made for group shelter reservations.

Are not valid for group shelters unless the entire group is qualified for the discount, with the paying person responsible for having the proper card when payment is made.

The City of Fort Worth has large areas available on a first-come basis in Pecan Valley Park below the dam.
