North Holiday Day Use Area

North Holiday Park is the largest day use area on Benbrook Lake, open year-round 6am-9pm. Located at 400 Lakeview Dr, Benbrook, TX 76126.

As of April 1, 2021 , North Holiday Day Use no longer accepts cash or checks as use entry fees. A paystation will instead be used to collect entry fees. This paystation will only accept debit or credit cards. For questions, please contact the Benbrook Lake Project Office at 817-292-2400.

To get to North Holiday Park day use area from Interstate Highway 20 exit 429A, go 2.4 miles (3.8 km) southwest on US Highway 377 to Stephens Drive, then east 1/4 mile (0.4 km) and left into the park on Lakeview Drive, across from the Benbrook VFW hall.

  • North Holiday Park has several miles of shoreline that with its generally gentle slope is popular for swimming. A designated swimming beach is located in the park. Pets, fires, glass, and fishing are prohibited in the swimming beach. Please be considerate in your use and disposal of glass in all park areas, as a piece of broken glass can easily spoil a day at the park.
  • Drinking water hydrants and fountains are found at several locations throughout the park.
  • There are four restrooms in the park.
  • Three boat ramps provide access to the main body and west shoreline of the lake. Sailboarders especially find the shoreline here attractive for launching, with the prevailing southwesterly winds.
  • The Fort Worth Thunderbirds Radio-controlled Model Airplane Club located in this park for many years was relocated to Mustang Park in 2011.

South Holiday Campground

The campground in South Holiday Campground is the largest campground on Benbrook Lake, open year-round 6am-10pm, with the gate house operating from 8am-8pm. Located at 6000 Pearl Ranch Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76126.

As of October 1, 2023, South Holiday Campground will no longer accepts cash or checks for campsite reservations. All future payments will need to be made with a credit or debit card. For questions, please contact the Benbrook Lake Project Office at 817-292-2400.

To get to South Holiday Campground:

  • From Interstate Highway 20 exit 429A, go 5.7 miles (9.2 km) southwest on US Highway 377 to Pearl Ranch Drive, then two miles (3.2 km) east to the park entrance gate.
  • From Interstate Highway 35W south of Fort Worth, take exit 39 for Farm to Market Road 1187 west through the city of Crowley for fifteen miles (24 km), then 1/4 mile (0.4 km) northeast on US Highway 377 to Pearl Ranch Drive, then two miles (3.2 km) east to the park entrance gate.

  • South Holiday Campground has 105 designated campsites. Many of these campsites may be reserved through the Recreation One Stop Reservation System online or at 1-877-444-6777.
  • 43 sites have 20/30 amp electric and water hookups.
  • 31 campsites have 20/30/50 amp electric and water hookups.
  • 5 campsites have enclosed screen shelters, with 20/30/50 amp electric and water hookups.
  • 26 campsites have no hookups.
  • All the campsites have a covered table, parking, and a cooker.
  • There are three restrooms with showers in the park.
  • Boat ramps at either end of the park have courtesy docks for assistance with loading and unloading of campers’ boats.
  • A fishing pier is located in the park's south end.
  • Site 65 is for equestrian use only. There are trailheads in this park to access over 14 miles of equestrian and hiking trails.

Longhorn Park

Longhorn Park near the Corps' Lake Office at the east end of the dam, provides a picnic area overlooking the lake on one of the highest points in the area. Swimming is allowed in undesignated areas, but the shoreline here is not suitable for wading, due to steep slopes. Longhorn is open year-round 7:30am - 9pm.

Longhorn Park is located at 7000 Lakeside Drive in southwest Fort Worth, west of Bryant Irvin Road at the end of Dirks Road.

There is no charge to access the overlook and boatramp.

  • Boat launch ramps are provided.
  • A group picnic shelter with parking, lights, water and electric outlets, a ballfield, horseshoe pits, and sand volleyball court may be reserved for dayuse activities from March through October. This area must be reserved through the Recreation One Stop Reservation System online or at 1-877-444-6777.

Bear Creek Campground

The Bear Creek Campground provides choice campsites on Benbrook Lake, open April-September 6am-10pm. Located at 7208 Ben-Day Murrin Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76126.

As of October 1, 2023, Bear Creek Campground will no longer accepts cash or checks for campsite reservations. All future payments will need to be made with a credit or debit card. For questions, please contact the Benbrook Lake Project Office at 817-292-2400.

To get to Bear Creek Campground:

  • From Interstate Highway 20 exit #429A, go six miles (9.7 km) southwest on US Highway 377 to Farm to Market Road 1187 East, then southeast for one mile (1.6 km) to Ben Day-Murrin Road (CO 1025), then east for two miles (3.2 km) to the park.
  • From Interstate Highway 35W south of Fort Worth, take exit 39 for Farm to Market Road 1187 west through the city of Crowley for eleven miles (17.7 km) to Winscott Plover Road (CO 1042), then north and west 2.6 miles (4.2 km), past the entrance to the Mustang Point area, to the entrance to the Bear Creek Campground.

  • All 40 campsites sites have 20/30 amp electric and water hookups.
  • Six of the sites have 50 amp electric and water hookups, and two of these also have a sewer hookup.
  • All the campsites have a covered table, parking, and a cooker.
  • There are three restrooms in the park, two with showers.
  • Boat ramps are located at either end of the park for access to both the body of the lake and the channel of Bear Creek.
  • There is a group camping facility in the park. This has a large group pavilion with parking, lights, water and electric outlets, as well as 6 individual campsites. The campsites are located around the central group pavilion, and each site has its own parking, hookups and individual covered table.
  • Several campsites and the Group Shelter may be reserved through the Recreation One Stop Reservation System online or at 1-877-444-6777.

Mustang Point & Swimming Beach

The Mustang Point Day Use Area provides open spaces, lakeshore access, swimming and picnicking facilities. The park is open year-round, 6am - 9pm. The day use swim beach area is open April-September 6am - 9pm.

The park is located at 3600 Winscott Plover, Fort Worth, TX 76126.

To get to Mustang Park:

  • From Interstate Highway 20 exit #429A, go six miles (9.7 km) southwest on US Highway 377 to Farm to Market Road 1187 East, then southeast for four miles (6.4 km) to Winscott Plover Road (CO 1042), then north two miles to the park.
  • From Interstate Highway 35W south of Fort Worth, take exit 39 for Farm to Market Road 1187 west through the city of Crowley for eleven miles (17.7 km) to Winscott Plover Road (CO 1042), then north two (3.2 km) miles to the park.

Mustang Point Day Use:

  • At Mustang Point vehicles are not required to stay on the paved roadways. In this area, you are free to pull off to any spot near the shoreline. Please remain respectful of the land and vegetation.
  • There are two restrooms in the park, one with showers.
  • Boat ramps provide access to both the body of the lake and the channel of Mustang Creek.
  • There is a group facility in the park that may be reserved for either dayuse or overnight camping activities. This has a large group pavilion with parking, lights, water and electric outlets, as six individual pedestal hookups in the parking area for RV use. This area may be reserved through the Recreation One Stop Reservation System online or at 1-877-444-6777.

The Mustang Point Swimming Beach:

  • All pets, animals, fires, fishing, and glass containers are prohibited in any swimming beach . Please be considerate in your use and disposal of glass in all park areas, as a piece of broken glass can easily spoil a day at the park.
  • Picnicking is allowed anywhere in the beach area, although there are only a few covered table sites.
  • Please confine any fires to grills, fireplaces or other areas provided for this purpose. You may bring your own covered cooker for fire building. Fires are not allowed on the designated swim beach.
  • Drinking water hydrants and fountains are found at several locations throughout the park.
  • There is one restroom in the park.

The Fort Worth Thunderbirds Radio-controlled Model Airplane Club flying field is located in Mustang Park and is accessible from the Mustang Point entrance to the park. The flying feild is open to the public, and all users must have AMA insurance. The scale model airplanes are always an attractive sight for spectators.

Westcreek Circle

Westcreek Circle is a limited-development park with shoreline access to the Bear Creek.

To get to West Creek Circle from Interstate Highway 20 exit #429A, go six miles (9.7 km) southwest on US Highway 377 to Farm to Market Road 1187 East, then southeast for one mile (1.6 km) to Ben Day-Murrin Road (CO 1025), then east for one mile (1.6 km) to the park.

This area is Free Access, but is closed to vehicular traffic.

  • Primitive camping is available only to groups with a Lake Activity Permit.
  • Other day use activities are allowed in this area, but users must park outside the gate and walk in.
  • Equestrian camping is allowed via Lake Activity Permit, and additional facilities are planned for this area in the near future.
  • The restroom is permanently closed. There is no water or electricity in the park.
  • This park offers a trailhead to access over 14 miles of equestrian and hiking trails.

Rocky Creek Park

Rocky Creek Park provides primitive campsites under tree cover along the Rocky Creek channel and an open peninsula with lots of shoreline for picnicking, swimming and fishing. Call 817-292-2400 for hours and policies.

Rocky Creek Park is located at 5900 Rocky Creek Park Rd, Crowley, TX 76036.

To get to Rocky Creek:

  • From Alta Mesa Boulevard in southwest Fort Worth, take Old Granbury Road (CO1902) two miles southwest to the park entrance.
  • From Farm to Market Road 1902, take CO1902 north for three miles to the park.

  • There are 11 campsites, each providing a covered table and parking, with a nearby water hydrant.
  • Picnicking is allowed anywhere on the peninsula area, not only at the several covered table sites.

  • The marina in Rocky Creek Park is no longer in business.
