Life Jacket Worn... Nobody Mourns

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is one of the nation’s leading provider of outdoor recreation with over 400 lake and river projects in 43 states and more than 250 million visits per year. Please be careful in and around the water because even strong swimmers drown.

We invite you to review the water safety tips provided by the National Water Safety Program before arriving at Proctor Lake, or any Corps location. These water safety tips are available in in both English and Spanish and can be accessed here. Also, please share these tips with everyone that might be acompanying you to any Corps location, especially children. During your stay at Proctor Lake, we encourage you to interact with the park rangers for an opportunity to receive face-to-face water safety training at your campsite. Lastly, please always remember to wear your lifejacket when swimming and/or boating, and to never swim alone.

The Corps of Engineers partners with many agencies and organizations to promote water safety. The rangers at Proctor Lake are eager to connect with the community and share their knowledge about water safety. The staff at Proctor Lake can provide critical water safety skills, to both adults and children, in a fun, engaging atmosphere. Call and schedule a water safety presentation at (254) 879-2424 or e-mail us!
