Reservations for campsites can be made through (877) 444-6777 or www.recreation.gov

A valid pass, online payment, or camping reservation is required for entry into Cedar Breaks, Jim Hogg, and Russell Parks. Payment is no longer accepted in the gate houses at the parks. Payment or passes must be purchased online through Recreation.gov or by scanning the QR-codes when entering the park. Your vehicle license plate may be used to verify compliance.

USACE Annual Passes may be purchased online through Recreation.gov or by scanning the QR-Codes on signs near the front of our parks. Paper annual passes must be redeemed for a plastic hangtag at the park gate houses within 14 days of purchase. Gate houses are open Friday - Sunday 10:00 am - 6:00 pm (April - September). Gate house hours may be reduced during winter months. To find out more about where and when to pick up your pass, contact the Lake Georgetown Office M-F 8:00 am - 4:30 pm at 512-930-5253.

Cedar Breaks Park, Jim Hogg Park, Russell Park, and Tejas Camp at Lake Georgetown are open year around from 6:00 am - 10:00 pm seven days a week. Cedar Breaks Park has 64 sites with approximately two-thirds being heavily wooded. Jim Hogg Park has 148 sites with approximately one-half being heavily wooded. Russell Park has 27 tent-only sites with no utilities. Tejas Camp has 12 tent-only sites with no utilities.

January 25th - February 12th Jim Hogg Park and Russell Park will be closed due to maintenance.

The Gatehouse Hours of Operation

Friday 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Saturday & Sunday 12:00 am - 6:00 pm

Check-in / Check-out Procedures

Check-in time for reservations is 3 pm and check-out time is 2pm. If you arrive early and no one is occupying your reserved site, you can occupy the site early as long as you check with the gate house first. On the day of your departure, please let the gate house know if you plan on staying additional nights at 10 am as a courtesy to our waiting campers. If you are departing, please make sure that your site is vacated prior to the 2 pm check-out time.

The entrance gates close at 10:00 pm for our customer's security.

Exit-only gates are provided and are open 24 hours. These parks are known for their family atmosphere and abundant wildlife. Park Hosts reside in the parks to serve our customers.

There is a 14 day camping limit as regulated by Title 36 of the Code of Federal Regulation.

Campers are limited to two vehicles per campsite on singles and 4 vehicles on double campsites. A $5.00 vehicle fee will be charged per extra vehicle past the limit.

Check out time is 2:00 pm. Check in time is 3:00 pm or earlier if the site is available and clean. Reservation information is available here.

NOTICE:

Due to the increased amount of damage caused by nails, lights, and hot lanterns, the following regulations are in effect.

  1. Do not place any nails into the shelters or a trees.
  2. Do not hang electrical lights on any shelter or tree.
  3. Hang lanterns on the provided hooks underneath the shelter only.

Any violation of this regulation can result in a citation.  Campers will be responsible for any damage caused by violation of this regulation.
