Natural Resources

Jim Chapman Lake offers a wide range of wildlife and fisheries for a rural lake experience. Wildlife range from waterfowl, to small game and  large game animals. Jim Chapman Lake's wildlife are present throughout the lake's 14,480 acre wildlife management area (WMA) managed by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

Wildlife Observation Deck

Located near the West end of Cooper Dam on FM 1529 and CR 4795 is the Wildlife Observation Deck.  This deck was built to provide an opportunity for bird enthusiasts to enjoy the wildlife that is located around the area.  Also, the deck provides a spectacular view of the lake for visitor's who are looking for a relaxing experience.
