A permit is required for events or activities occurring in the parks or on the lake, including but not limited to bounce houses, water slides, weddings, tournaments, bands, DJs, church functions, etc. Swimming pools of any size are not allowed. Effective September 5, 2014 thru March 31, 2015 the main entrance to Waxahachie Creek Park will be closed to thru traffic. All Bardwell Lake multi-use trail users will enter through the North entrance to the park off of Old Park Road, please see attached map for direction how to get to this new entrance. The horse user campsites will be available by reservation only through the National Recreation Reservation Service, phone number 1-877-444-6777 or To inquire any more information about this please contact the Bardwell Lake Project Office 972-875-5711.

Beginning 1 January 2013, a new Area Use Fee was implemented for all parks at Bardwell Lake.  This Area Use Fee is $4.00 per vehicle and will cover the use of any of the following facilities/amenities:  Boat Ramps, Picnic Sites, Swim Beaches, Showers, Multi-Use Trails, Dump Station, and Fishing in the parks.  The Marina located in High View Park will still have a separate charge for use of their facilities.  Visitors to campers will continue to be free of charge, restrictions and limitations apply.  For questions or additional information, please contact the Bardwell Lake Office Monday – Friday, 07:30 – 4:00, (972)875-5711.  All use fee information for Fort Worth District lakes is posted on the district website at:

BARDWELL LAKEHIGH VIEW PARKPARTIALLY CLOSEDFLOODPARK10/25/2018 8:06:46 AMDue to the flooding situation at Bardwell Lake, the Boat Ramp at High View Park is closed, as are sites 10-16, 40-49, and the Day Use picnic sites and swim beach. The restroom in the first loop of High View Park is permanently closed, there is still a facility with showers available by the Boat Ramp in the park. We do not have a date when this will be resolved at this time.
