Gate Attendant Contracts

Gate attendants are the public's primary interface with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. These people are private individuals who work under contract for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The contracts at Bardwell Lake require a two-person team both 21 years or older.

Responsibilities include collecting user fees, registering campers and visitors, maintaining campground status reports, reservation reports, use fee collection reports, posting campsite reservations, providing general information to the visiting public, surveillance of use fee compliance and informing visitor of rules and regulations, manning the gate house and recording any complaints. Additional duties are identified in the Bardwell Lake Gate Attendant Scope of Work.

The attendants are responsible for cleaning the gatehouse and the immediate area surrounding the entrance complex. They are also responsible for cleaning their own trailer site. The attendants are required to purchase all cleaning supplies necessary to perform these duties.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will provide all necessary fee collection supplies. Bardwell Lake utilizes the Recreation One Stop (R1S) computer system and software. Some parks may utilize cash registers. The government will provide computer paper, fee books, maps and brochures.

Gate attendants are required to live in the campground on a site provided by the Corps of Engineers. Gate attendants are also required to provide a self contained recreational type trailer or RV. The government provides a covered site with a minimum of 30-amp electric service, water and sewer at no cost to the gate attendant.

Prospective bidders are required to register at http://www.sam.gov There is no cost to register, and you will be assinged a Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) code. The CAGE code is required when the bid is submitted.
