Hickory Creek Park
Westlake Park

Doe Branch Park is a free day use park located at the end of Gammon Road in Little Elm. It has a one lane boat ramp and shoreline to fish from. There is no camping allowed in this park.

Big Sandy Access is a free access point with a two lane boat ramp and shoreline to fish from. There is no camping allowed at this access point. It is located off of Shady Shores Road in Shady Shores.

Hickory Creek Park

Hickory Creek is a Class A campground located in Hickory Creek, Texas on Lewisville Lake. Hickory Creek Park

Amenities:

  • Camping sites with water and electrical hookups, picnic tables, grills and fire rings ($30 per night)

  • 10 primitive camping sites with water and pit toilet within walking distance ($14 per night)

  • Boatramp (for campers only)

  • Restrooms with showers

  • Dump station

  • Shoreline access for fishing

  • Walking/Biking trail

  • Gate attendant on duty during open hours

  • Emergency exit gate open after 10 pm

Use Fees:

Primitive campsites are $14/night
50 amp and water campsites are $30/night

Golden Age, Golden Access and America the Beautiful Senior and Disability pass holders receive 50% off the regular fees.

Meet your Park Hosts:

In order to make your stay more enjoyable, Park Hosts are on site to answer your questions, remind you of park rules and hand out goodies for the kids!

Campsites are available for use by walk-in and through reservations made at www.recreation.gov . (opens in new website)

Rules and Regs:

The park is closed between 10 pm and 6 am. Entry into the park is not permitted during those times. Day users are not permitted in the campground. A full copy of the Rules and Regulations can be found under Recreation Rules and Regulations tab.

Directions:

The park is located off I-35 South (also known as Stemmons Freeway) .  After exiting the FM 2181/Swisher Rd exit (Exit 458) off the freeway, turn right onto Turbeville Road and then left on Point Vista Road.  The park will be on your right.  Hickory Creek is located close to restaurants, a movie theater, and grocery shopping. Westlake

Westlake Park is a day use only park located in Hickory Creek, Texas off of Lewisville Lake.

Amenities:

  • Picnic tables with grills

  • Four pavilions for rental at the park gatehouse or online at www.recreation.gov

  • 2 Restrooms

  • Shoreline access for fishing

  • 1 Boat ramps with loading docks

  • Long parking spaces for boat trailers

  • Gate attendant controlled access

Use Fees:

Day Use fees are $5 a vehicle or $1 per person walking or riding a bike into the park.

Pavilions:

Four open sided pavilions are available for rent in the park.  Each pavilion is within walking distance of a bathroom and has a large grill, water and electric hook-up.  AS OF RIGHT NOW THE PAVILIONS ARE FIRST-COME-FIRST-SERVE! Advanced reservations for the four pavilions can be made at www.recreation.gov or same day reservations can be made at the park gatehouse.

Cottonwood Pavilion: 100-150 people, $100/day

Bur Oak Pavilion: 100-150 people, $100/day

Green Ash Pavilion: 75-100 people, $75/day

Blackjack Oak Pavillion: 100-150 people, $100/day

Westlake is open 6 am to 10 pm year round. Entry into the parks is not permitted outside those times. A full copy of the Rules and Regulations can be found under Recreation Rules and Regulations tab.

Directions:

On I-35E going North or South take the Swisher Exit (exit 458). From the North cross over I-35 onto Lake Dallas Dr. Stay on Lake Dallas Dr. until the Main St. stopsign. Turn left and stay on Main St. until it enters into the parks.
From the South, take the Lake Dallas Dr road until Main St stop sign. Turn right and stay on Main St. until it enters into the park.
