Welcome to Lewisville Lake

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District welcomes you to Lewisville Lake, located in Lewisville, Texas. Our missions are to provide flood risk management to the Dallas metro area, store water for the city of Dallas and manage the recreation and natural resources around the lake.

Lewisville Lake

Lewisville Lake is a part of the Trinity Regional Project. The Trinity Regional Project is a cluster of seven local lakes: Bardwell, Benbrook, Grapevine, Joe Pool, Lavon, Lewisville and Ray Roberts. A team of managers, administrators, park rangers, natural resource specialists and engineering technicians work together to manage the recreation, natural resources, and civil works facilities for all seven of these lakes.

Special Limited Archery White-tailed Deer Hunt in the Hickory Creek Area: Archery deer hunting permits will be issued in a lottery system, where only one doe tag per permit winner will be provided. Based on wildlife survey data we will only be issuing ten tags total. Applications will be posted on the Lewisville Lake website, Hunt Lewisville Lake, between 1 July - 31 July 2021. Permit winners will be mailed a package explaining the hunt itself, details regarding a mandatory pre-hunt meeting, hunt regulations, and a map. Each deer hunter must provide the following prior to the hunt at the pre-meeting: proof of hunters education, valid Texas hunting license, and photo ID. Proof of archery proficiency is also required by providing a range card from a certified archery range prior to the mandatory pre-hunt orientation. Each deer hunter must email the following post hunt: a harvest report submittal and a TPWD incidental day light survey to ceswf-hunt-lewisville no later than one week after the end of the hunt. If the list items are not received the hunter will not be eligible to apply for the lottery for the following season. Hunters must follow all Federal and State hunting laws and regulations. SPECIAL LIMITED ARCHERY WHITE-TAILED DEER HUNT DATES ARE FROM 13 Nov. 2021 - 21 Nov. 2021.

Permits for the 2021 - 2022 hunting season will be available August 11, 2021 via an online application.

In accordance with Texas Transportation Code, Golf Carts are not allowed to be operated on Public Roadways at Corps of Engineers Projects.

  • Golden Age and Golden Access Passports are no longer being sold and have been replaced with America the Beautiful Pass. The Corps does accept the new Senior and Access pass, but is not authorized to sell the pass until January 1, 2016. Find out more details here.
