Group Camping Area

Turkey Roost Group Camp area

This area is located within Cedar Ridge Park near the screen shelter loop. Turkey Roost offers 6 single and 2 double campsites with water and 50 amp electrical hook-ups, a waterborne restroom with showers, and a 32 X 50 pavilion. The area is segregated from the rest of the campground. Turkey Roost Group Camping Area offers an ideal location for overnight gatherings in an outdoor setting. Up to 10 travel trailers or RV's and/or up to 20 tents may occupy this area. Plan your family reunion or company sponsored camping trip with us! For questions call the lake office at (254) 742-3050 or you may make your reservation or check pricing today at www.recreation.gov.

There is an 80 person maximum capacity for Turkey Roost Group Area.  If your gathering may exceed these limits, include bounce houses or other specialty accomodations, or is an event requiring use of any other park amenity such as a boat ramp, picnic, beach or parking area, you may be required to have a Lake Activity Permit. Events requiring a Lake Activity Permit, in addition to above include, but are not limited to, fishing tournaments, sporting events and any event where attendees are required to pay a fee to attend, prizes are awarded or the nature of the event may infringe or disrupt the use of the park or portion of the park (other than the group pavilion area) by the general public.

There is currently no cost for the permit and is the means to assist us with controlling overcrowding of park/lake facilities. Permits are limited and are issued on a First Come First Served basis. The number of permits are regulated through the Belton Lake Office. Go here to find out more about Lake Activity Permits and to find a fillable request form.
