McCown Valley Equestrian Trail

Within McCown Valley Park is the trailhead for a large equestrian trail system. Over 13 miles of trail cover the area between McCown Valley Park and Lake Whitney State Park. The terrain is generally flat and sandy in several places. McCown Valley Park has several stalls within the campground that are avalible for equestrian campers. Trail riders should avoid riding along the shoreline as the ground may not be able to support all horses. The McCown Valley Equestrian Trail is an active catlle lease, riders must ensure gates are closing behind them when entering or exiting.

Note: Trail may not be clearly marked in all places, riders should remain aware of their own limits and their horses limits.
