When does water get released?
Water is not released on any particular schedule. Unless the lake is at flood stage, releases are made on demand from the power company in order to generate electricity. You can visit the
USGS website
that shows the most current information about discharge from the Whitney dam.
Are the parks under a burn ban?
You can check the
burn ban website
to see if Bosque, Hill, or Johnson County are under a burn ban. Our parks are in three different counties, so be sure to check the map to make sure you've got the right county!
