The Whitney Lake Office is closed to the public. All hunting permit applications must be sent in the mail.

As of 16 September 2020, all Corps of Engineers parks and facilities on Whitney Lake EXCEPT Plowman Creek, Walling Bend and Soldiers Bluff are open. Walling Bend and Soldiers Bluff are closed until further notice due to public safety concerns.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact the front office at (254)622-3332 Monday through Friday 8AM to 4:30PM. Please continue to adhere to CDC guidelines for social distancing, washing of hands, and keeping group sizes to a minimum. Thank you.

 

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District, welcomes you to Whitney Lake in Central Texas. Whitney Lake is located on the main stem of the Brazos River. The Whitney Lake Dam and Powerhouse are located approximately 5.5 miles southwest of Whitney, 30 miles north of Waco, and 65 miles southwest of Fort Worth (see Vicinity Map).

Our missions are: to provide flood control for the Brazos River Watershed, supply reliable and renewable power and energy, and provide recreation opportunities for some of the best fishing, camping, and boating in Texas. Come out and visit us and remember to wear your life jacket!
