Old Hancock Equestrian Trail

Multipurpose Trail: Equestrian Riding, Hiking, Biking and Fishing

The Old Hancock Trail is just over 4 miles long and follows part of the north shoreline of Canyon Lake.

The trailhead is located at the end of Old Hancock Road just off FM 306 on the north side of the lake.

The trail runs from open plains near the shore to the wooded coves along the north shore. Along the way you will find several park style benchs placed near the waters edge for your usage. Be courtious of all other trail users. The trail runs from Hancock Road to the north shoreline of Canyon Park, across the causeway road and about another half mile before turning around.

This trail is designated as an equestrian riding trail, but bicycles and hikers are welcome on the trail too. Please be respectful to riders on horseback and give them space.

Proof of a "Negative Coggins Test" is required to use this trail.
