Leased Parks at Joe Pool Lake

Cedar Hill State Park

Cedar Hill State Park is located on the east side of Joe Pool Lake off of F.M. 1382 between the Dam and the City of Cedar Hill. This park is leased to and operated by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department . Cedar Hill State Park has opportunities for camping, picnicking, biking, hiking, fishing, swimming, boating, group facilities, and souvenir shoping (at the Texas State Park Store). Cedar Hill State Park also now manages the Overlook at the Joe Pool Dam. This area is located by the Joe Pool Lake Office Building off of F.M. 1382 in Dallas, Texas. The Visitor's Overlook gives visitors the chance to get a view of the lake. This park consists of a restroom and trail heads. The trail head gives visitors a chance to take a walk across the top of the Joe Pool Lake Dam. This Scenic trail is approximately 7.8 miles round trip or 3.9 miles one way. From the trail visitors can see the Outlet Works and the Spillway structures.
