Welcome to Proctor Lake

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District welcomes you to Proctor Lake, located in Comanche, Texas. Our mission: to provide flood control to the North Central Texas area, supply water to the communities in Comanche, Erath and Hamilton Counties, and to offer some of the best fishing, camping and boating in Texas.

Proctor Lake

  • COPPERAS CREEK PARK: camping sites 1 – 36 and both group shelters are closed until April 1, 2010. All other sites at Copperas Creek are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. Copperas Creek day use boat ramp is closed due to low water level.

  • SOWELL CREEK PARK: camping sites 31 – 61 and group shelter are closed until April 1, 2010. All other sites at Sowell Creek are available on a first-come-first-serve basis.

  • PROMONTORY PARK: (NO CAMPING) camping sites and all group shelters are closed until April 1, 2010. Northeast boat ramp and fishing pier are available for day use.

  • HIGH POINT PARK: This park is closed. Day use horse and hiking trail parking allowed at the main entrance.
