Welcome to Lewisville Lake

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District welcomes you to Lewisville Lake, located in Lewisville, Texas. Our missions are to provide flood risk management to the Dallas metro area, store water for the City of Dallas and manage the recreation and natural resources around the lake.

Lewisville Lake

Lewisville Lake is a part of the Trinity Regional Project. The Trinity Regional Project is a cluster of seven local lakes: Bardwell, Benbrook, Grapevine, Joe Pool, Lavon, Lewisville and Ray Roberts. A team of managers, administrators, park rangers, natural resource specialists and engineering technicians work together to manage the recreation, natural resources, and civil works facilities for all seven of these lakes.

Hunting

We have reached our limit of of permits for the 2023-2024 season. The 2023-2024 SWF District Hunting Guide states for Lewisville Lake that "Each permitted hunter is allowed to bring one guest 18 years old or older. Hunters 17 years of age and younger are not required to obtain a permit but must be with a permitted adult. All hunters hunting independently must have a permit, as well as a hunter's education verification."

Camping

Reservations for camping at Hickory Creek Campground can be made at www.recreation.gov or by calling 1-877-444-6777.

America the Beautiful Pass

America The Beautiful Annual, Senior Annual, Senior Lifetime, Access, Military Annual, and Military Lifetime passes can be obtained at Hickory Creek Campground, 1201 Point Vista Road, Hickory Creek, TX, 75065. America The Beautiful 4th Grade passes can be obtained in exchange for a completed Every Kid Outdoors voucher at the Lewisville Lake Project Office, 1801 North Mill Street, Lewisville, TX, 75057. 5th Grade vouchers will not be exchanged for a physical pass.
