11 am-Trail Running How To with North Texas Trail Runners

11:30 am-Fun Trail Run/Walk guided by North Texas Trail Runners

Noon-Raffle

General Information:

  1. Admission:  The Northshore Roundup Event is FREE. Murrell Park entrance and parking is FREE.
  2. Parking:  Parking is on a first come first serve basis. Additional parking is available in other areas of the park only a short walking distance from the event.
  3. Food and Beverage:  Food vendors will not be in attendance at this event. Please feel free to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the view of the lake at our day use area! Alcohol and glass containers are NOT allowed in the park.
  4. Pets:  Dogs are welcome in the park but must be on a leash at all times. Please bring baggies to clean up pet waste. Trash cans are available for waste disposal.
  5. Restrooms and Water :  A pit toilet is available in the park near the event. Port-a-toilets are available at the mid point along the trail behind the Gate House. Murrell Park does not have flush toilets or shower facilities. Drinking water is available at the water fountain at the MADD shelter trail head and the mid point along the trail behind the Gate House.

How do I get to Murrell Park?
Murrell Park is located at 880 Simmons Road in Flower Mound, TX 75028
How to get to Murrell Park: From FM 2499, turn west on FM 3040. Take your first left onto McKamy Creek Road. McKamy Creek Road will end at Simmons Road. Turn left onto Simmons Road. Simmons Road will dead end at the Murrell Park Gate House. Just tell the Gate Attendant that you are here for the National Trails Day event and the Gate Attendant will give direct you to the trail head. Can't wait to see y'all there!

Grapevine Lake attracts visitors from all over Texas and beyond with its campgrounds, picnic areas, numerous boat ramps for quick and easy access to the water, fishing spots (everyone has a favorite secret lucky fishing hole), picturesque marinas and easy access to the numerous attractions of Dallas and Fort Worth. If you enjoy trails, Grapevine Lake offers trail experiences for hikers, mountain bikers and equestrians. For hunters, we offer access to public hunting on the northwest end of Grapevine Lake with deer (archery only), feral hog, waterfowl, and other small game.
