Group Camping Areas
Grapevine Lake offers areas for group camping access. All areas require reservations through the Grapevine Lake Project Office, and a special use permit.
Murrell Heritage and Murrell Simmons are primitive camping areas within Murrell Park, Grapevine Lake, and are primarily utilized by organizations for weekend outings. An organization is defined as an administrative and functional structure (as a business or a political party) To reserve camping at either location, a project plan must be submitted by the organization. A project plan consists of an acceptable natural resource protection plan, within Grapevine Lake Project, to mitigate use of the sites for camping.
Reservations must be made no more than 4 weeks in advance and no less than 2 weeks prior to the proposed use of the area(s). Concurrent weekends cannot be reserved by the same organization. If the reservation is made, Lake Activity Permits must be completed before the reservation is added to the calendar. Reservations must be made in person at the Grapevine Lake Office during normal business hours.
