Facility Closure Report

The following facilities are closed due to flooding conditions/damages, seasonal closures, maintenance and construction activities, low lake levels, etc:

 

Lake Closure Information
Aquilla

No closures

Bardwell

Due to current ongoing construction at Waxahachie Creek Park all camping areas within the park are currently closed until further notice.  At this time only the multi-use trails and day use/picnic areas are open from 6 am -  9 p.m. daily. 

The Multi-Use trails are subject to closure after heavy or prolonged rainfall. Contact the lake office at 972-875-5711, Monday - Friday, 7:30-4:00 daily, for current trail information.
Belton

All courtesy docks are not usable. The delineated beaches are not usable. McGregor Boat Ramp is not usable.

Benbrook

The following boat ramps are closed, but expected to open mid-May: Longhorn Park, Mercer Camping, Holiday Camping, Bear Creek, and Rocky Creek South.

Holiday Beach and Holiday River are closed unles lake level is at or above conservation pool.

All parks are open except Westcreek Circle which remains closed due to flooding and for construction.
 
Individual campsites closed are as follows:

Holiday Park – sites 72 and 73

Bear Creek Park – sites 4 through 7, and 15 through 18

Rocky Creek Park campground in south end of park, all sites.

Canyon

– The following parks are closed for the Winter Season Each Year (October 1 - March 31): North Park, Canyon Park, Canyon Beach and Comal Park.

– Each December, parts of Potters Creek Park will be closed for seasonal wildlife management practices. Check with the lake office for the current dates and closure information for the park.

–Hancock Trail is subject to closure depending upon current weather conditions. When it has been raining and the parking area is muddy, the trail will be closed and gated .

–Due to low lake levels and current seasonal park closures, the following boat ramps are closed: 5, 7, 13, 16, 23.

Cooper

There are currently no closures at Cooper Lake.

Georgetown

Russell Park swim beach is unusable.

Fishing docks and courtesy boat docks are closed due to low lake levels.

Granger

Wilson Fox Park is closed from 1-Oct to 31-October. It is scheduled to re-open on the 1st of November.

Grapevine

Both Meadowmere boat ramps are close. The creek can only be accessed from Trophy Club Park Boat Ramp.

Hords Creek

Campsites, all group shelters except for group shelter 6, and screen shelters are back up and can be reserved through NRRS.

We currently do not have any designated swim beaches at this time due to low lake level.

The only boat ramp and fishing pier that are open right now are the ones located at Friendship Park Day Use.

Flatrock Park is currently closed and will remain closed for Summer 2012.

Joe Pool

All parks open.

Lake O the Pines

Currently the facilities that are closed are as follows:
Brushy Creek Day Use boat ramp
Johnson Creek Campground boat ramp
Mims Chapel boat ramp All other facilities are open.

Lavon Lake

Twin Groves is closed due to low lake levels.

Caddo Park is closed until further notice.

Bratonia Park is closed due to low lake levels.

Highland Park is closed due to low lake levels.

Brockdale boat ramp is closed due to low lake levels.

Lakeland Park is closed due to staffing shortage.
Lewisville Lake

Doe Branch Access at Lewisville Lake has been closed due to low water levels.

O.C. Fisher All ramps are unusable due to low lake levels, except for the one nearest the dam where small boats can be launched. All other facilities open.
Navarro Mills

Closed for flooding: Brushie Prairie- Boat ramp and parking area. Oak Park- Campsites 1-8, 20-22, fishing pier, boat ramp, courtesy dock, and hiking trail.
Liberty Hill Park- Campsites 65-66, fishing pier, West boat ramp and courtesy dock.
Oak Park Day Use, Pecan Point Park, Wolf Creek Park are closed for Winter.

Proctor

HIGH POINT PARK: Park is closed. Day-use horse and hiking trail parking allowed at the main entrance.

Ray Roberts

All parks open.

Sam Rayburn

 

Stillhouse Hollow

All courtesy docks are not usable. The delineated beaches are not usable.

Somerville

Somerville Lake has no closures at this time

Town Bluff Dam/B.A. Steinhagen Lake All boat ramps are now open. Magnolia Ridge Park, Sandy Creek Park and Martin Dies, Jr. State Park are fully operational. Campers Cove camping area will remain closed until further notice.
Waco

All Waco facilities are open.

Whitney

LOFERS BEND WEST PARK: Boat Ramp closed due to low lake levels.  Sites 10, 11, 12, 13, and 18 Screen Shelter sites closed due to construction.

Wright Patman

There are currently no closures at Wright Patman Lake.
