Group Camping Areas

Canyon Lake is a fantastic place to hold an event for a family, group, club, business or organization.  We have four (4) group shelters and five (5) group RV/Camping sites located in two parks: Canyon and Potters Creek.  RV and tent camping are allowed in Potters Creek sites, while tent camping only is allowed in Canyon Park facilities. These group shelters (AKA: Group Pavilions) are very popular for events, so please make reservations in advance.

If you wish to plan an event at any of the locations then you MUST apply for a Special Event Permit from the Canyon Lake Office.    A special event is anything not limited to your immediate family or a small group or that goes in excess of the capacity limitations for group areas or if you wish to have exclusive use of a certain portion of a park.    Just call 830-964-3341 to discuss with us specific needs for your proposed event or go to the Contact Page to email a request for a permit.     All activities must have a permit.

Special Events Include, but are not exclusive only to the list below.:

Weddings, charitable events, fishing tournaments, emergency services training classes, youth group camp-outs, triathlons, military training exercises, educational outing, Boy Scout or Girl Scout campout, Sorority or Fraternity activity, club meetings and outings, business workshops, large family picnics or reunions, birthday parties and a variety of others activities.
